[xubuntu-users] Sane not finding my scanner

Hi,

I was trying to get the scanner functionality working on my Canon MX300.
I think the app that does this is called XSane. When I run XSane it says
"Device is not available". I Googled it and see a lot talk about getting
this printer to scan with [X]Ubuntu - it's a fairly new model. But I'm
not sure what the procedure is(?)

Using 8.10. BTW, it prints quite well.
