[xubuntu-users] All icons and desktop setting dissapeared - why?

The fix: Somehow, XFCE was prevented from managing the desktop. Enable
Applications->Settings->Settings Manager->Allow Xfce to manage the
desktop.

I have no idea how that got unchecked?!
