Ok then:

firstly, check the md5sum of your iso against the checksum given on the 
download site. As I understand you already checked and these are identical.

secondly, check the md5sum of the CD that you burned from your iso

for example:
sudo md5sum /dev/sr0

assuming that sr0 is your CD drive where your xunbuntu alternate CDrom 
is in.

Now, are those checksums identical?
