John--I cheated on the monitor issue. Used the monitor controls to center
the display better.

I do think I should learn enough about command language to be able to do the
same thing with Terminal I'm trying.

If you could find the time I would much appreciate a repeat of the
resolution-shifting commands  with  commentary on what's going on.
