Canonical does not provide material support for the development of Xfce, and
only provides infrastructure (e.g. Launchpad, download locations, website
hosting (but not development)) to support Xubuntu. The real work that allows
these projects to exists is done by independent, voluntary contributors. The
biggest threat to the existence of Xubuntu is that there won't be enough
volunteers to continue the project :)
