Hi,
If you insist on panels ... *one* is all that is necessary. The one
panel should be at the *top* of the space and it should contain *all*
of the users most used applications, starting from left to right.
The reason for the panel being at the top is usability. People, in the
western world, read from *top* to bottom and *left* to right. Not vise
versa.
Indeed, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever for one panel let
alone two panels. It is a waste of real estate.
I do not use panels for application launching. I just right click
anywhere within the WM space, pick my application, left click on it and
off I go.
