[xubuntu-users] Interface name too long for network monitor

Hello,

This is about XUbuntu 10.4 on IBM ThinkPad T42.
My WLAN interface is named "eth0_renamed" which is too long to be 
entered into the network monitor properties. I tried to enter the string 
directly into the config file 
~/.config/xfce4/panel/netload-12513804320.rc without success. I was 
unable to find the /etc config where this absurd naming takes place.
I'd really like to visualize my network activity.
