Wouldn't it be better to report bugs early - they might stand a chance
of being fixed prior to release.

Seems pretty straight forward to me - the OP tried these apps he has an
issue with in Gnome to check they were working, logged out and back into
Xubuntu - not working there.

I've only been using Xubuntu for 2 years - Ubuntu before that and have
to say that while I have found Xubuntu very reliabel - I've come across
more than two bugs ...
