More likely, you have to do as you do with Firefox and TELL IT which 
application to use for .pdf files. Chrome couldn't come with Adobe 
installed by default as it is proprietary and needs you to accept the 
terms of their license separately. Otherwise Google would be in a world 
of legal hurt. Plus, look at the legal rants when Windows installed 
Explorer by default. Everyone sued.

Maybe you're thinking of Chrome OS? Ric

p/s anytime you install something outside the repo system, you're pretty 
much on your own. :)
