[xubuntu-users] How Do I Stop X Server in 13.10 ?

Hi,

I want to stop X. I go into recovery mode an select the root prompt
option. From there I've tried many things but nothing's worked so far. I
want to run # X Configure to generate an xorg.config file which I will
move to /etc/x11 and set Option “AccelMethod” “sna” to UXA. This is the
only way to get flash working for my intel graphics.

I wish there was an easier way to change X configurations but there's no
config file to edit anymore...and it may not work at all in 13.10
anyway...

Thanks

PS. anything mentioned in the ArchWiki does not work.Anything using
"/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf" or anything like it does not work.
The resolution will be wrong and also unchangable via the display
setting GUI. A full config file worked in 13.04 so I want to try it
again.
