I set up printer sharing on the desktop (which has the printer attached) 
and the laptop. When I type something in the laptop (using gedit or LO 
Writer for example) and then try to print, it finds the printer 
apparently. An icon appears showing the name of the printer. But when I 
choose to print the file nothing happens. In the laptop the file appears 
in the job list with a message 'The printer is not responding'.

In the desktop the job list is empty. I have searched around for an 
answer but so far without success. It seems to be a problem with version 
12.04 only.
