As you may notice in the lower left corner it shows no driver 
activated.  Try the second in the list:
click -> "Nvidia accelerated graphics drive (version 331)[recommended]"
click -> Activate (lower right)

Let it do it's thing then reboot.  If all goes well you should come up 
with graphic support and see if that clears the Evolution up. Point of 
note Thunderbird replaced Evolution in later versions of Xubuntu so if 
you upgrade you will need to install it post build.
