I check USB devices in VBox's devices menu.
I don't know what version of VBox is provided by the Ubuntu
repos, virtualbox > 4.3.12 has broken USB support.
Are the USB devices accessible by Linux? A VBox guest only can use
them, if the Linux host provides them.
