[xubuntu-users] wifi - Xubuntu vs Knoppix on HP dv7 laptop

Wifi works easily via Knoppix 7.2.0 CD but I can't get wifi to work via 
Xubuntu 12.04.3 CD. I think I have entered correct info into edit 
network connections (BSSID, MAC address, etc), but just can't get wifi 
to connect during Xubuntu trial using CD (on HP dv7 laptop).

I've been trying for days, have read many webpages, can't solve the 
problem, thus this post. I would prefer Xubuntu if wifi can be tested 
and made to work on the dv7.
