[xubuntu-users] problem with skype.

i noticed that my microphone came up muted by default. open the volume 
control settings and make sure the mute button (i think they use a 
speaker icon for the microphone mute button) is toggled. you can tell 
when it's not muted because the bar graph will react to your voice.
