[xubuntu-users] CD Printer

I have been making good progress to get from XP 2 XUbuntu.

However I found something that has me stumped. I would like to be able 
to print directly onto CD's (the white ones) with my Canon iP4200. With 
some initial tuning I was able to do it very reliably on XP, and would 
like to do the same on XUbuntu. The printer drivers appear to have the 
CD printing options (ie knows the dimensions) but I have not got much 
further than that.

I have seen on a web page a reference on how to get The Gimp to print on 
an older Canon machine, but I found the instructions were not suitable 
for my set up. I have found "Kover" but it only appears to print the 
paper jewel case inserts, which is handy, but not what I wanted most 
urgently.

Q. Can anyone point me towards a package that handles this directly 
(best option), or at least a good tutorial that can help me get one of 
the more common Xubuntu packages to cooperate and do it (most likely 
option?).
