[xubuntu-users] 14.04.1 hates video

I went back and checked to find the "right" nVidia driver and it
turned out not to be the "latest" one in the Ubuntu repositories but a
newer one in a different repo (I forget right now which repo).

Since I installed the new driver I haven't seen any problems, though I
haven't watched too too many videos since then - busy not watching
videos :-).

Between my printer (driver stopped functioning right when I really
needed to print some checks), the video problem and losing my internet
connection last night (external area-wide problems with our provider),
it's been a long weekend.

Things may be looking up.
