[xubuntu-users] Are *Ubuntu Based Distro's Dying?

Doubt it.

The ubuntu family is one of the few linux systems which is plug-n-play.
Just load the image disc in and go. After that, the system will work
just fine as is, or it can be improved.

I've run xubuntu on barebones systems, and have for years. The great
thing about linux versions is that it's easy to go computing on the
cheap. I feel bad for people who spend more on a mac system than the
book value of my car. Seriously, a $100 computer and some scrounged
parts is all someone needs. Heck, LXDE will run on a computer picked
from the trash (like a pentium 4 or something).
