sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xubuntu-dev/xfce-4.12

will not only add the PPA to your installation sources but will also 
take care
of the PGP key from the repo so you can check the signature of the 
packages.

I did this a couple of weeks ago followed by

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

and am using Xfce 4.12 on Trusty without any flaws whatsoever since 
then.
