It would be best to describe what problem you've had when trying to install the driver. OpenPrinting recommends this driver, a .deb to install:
http://www.openprinting.org/printer/Epson/Epson-XP-215_217_Series
...which should be straightforward.

$ sudo dpkg -i driver.deb
