Subject: [xubuntu-users] Positive Feedback For The Xubuntu Team
Just a few words of encouragement to the Xubuntu gang. I switched back to the Canonical family of Ubuntu flavors in the past year. Listened to "Popey" on The Jupiter Broadcasting's "Linux Unplugged" podcast and found he give many great comments about the Ubuntu offerings. Have tried many systems and find good in many.
My attempts to work with Ubuntu Unity were almost good enough, but found a rigidity and lack of polish for a system that has been under development for many cycles. The other flavors I have worked with have been Ubuntu-GNOME and Xubuntu. I love them both, but find that while Ubuntu-GNOME has plenty of quality and polish, I find that Xubuntu has both great polish and flexibility. When I want to change the look of something, Xubuntu easily allows that to happen.
Hope to stay with Xubuntu for many cycles and appreciate the effort that the team does to make it work so well. I use a desktop and am pleased to say that there have been no issues or special problems. The system was built by a friend who builds and repairs computers and he let me watch as he crafted the system.
Looking forward to future efforts to move into Snappy packages. Was glad to see systemd adopted by the Ubuntu system.
If I have gotten this posting to the wrong address, just let me know. I could not seem to find another way to give positive feedback. The team needs that too.
Don
