Hi,

freedesktop.org menus don't have a config file, they are generated
based on the desktop files.

Desktop files could be on different locations.

The packages usually install the files to

/usr/share/applications/

your edits are most likely located in

$HOME/.local/share/applications/

If you prefer a menu provided by the panel, one you could edit by a
single configuration file, then consider to replace xfce4-panel by e.g.
fbpanel. If you want a right click menu you could edit by a single
configuration file, consider to replace xfwm4 with e.g. openbox.

If you want to stay with xfce4-panel and xfwm4 you need to learn how to
manually edit desktop files, by reading the documentations provided at
https://www.freedesktop.org/ .

Regards,
Ralf
