[xubuntu-users] Thousands of files keep reappearing

I decided to review my computer to see what files I have edited in the 
last 24 hours. I found the number to be over 7,000.  I noticed that 
about 3,000 of those files are .png files in the Mozilla .cache 
thumbnails normal directory.  Many indicated that they were created 
"today".  Other than running catfish to find the files, I have run no 
program, other than boot-up.

I deleted all of the files in the 
/home/john/.cache/mozilla/thumbnails/normal directory.  Then I re-ran 
catfish to find other large number of files that I can delete.  All of 
the thumbnails had reappeared.

I also found a cookies sqlite db with several hundred k in it, yet I 
delete all cookies, clear cache, etc. when I close Firefox.

I am concerned for the privacy of all of us.  It seems to me that our 
own computers are tracking us and creating documentation.  Are there 
scripts that I can automatically run on boot-up to delete excess files?  
I understand that if I delete cache items, it will take longer for pages 
to load from the internet, but I also understand that a meta database is 
being created on my computer indicating where I went, when, etc.  If I 
go into a store with video cameras, I understand that there is now a 
record of where/when that I have no control over.  My concern is we are 
creating and maintaining a database on our own computers of our activity.

customers pay me to be paranoid."
