These are definitely some issues with VLC, not Linux / Xubuntu. I’d suggest you try VLC support / help / forums, etc. The other option is to try to run it using Windows just to check and see if it works there (shot in the dark).
Merry Christmas everyone and a Happy coming New Year!

Dennis

Subject: [xubuntu-users] VLC and channels.xspf
hi list,
have problems with read in a topical channels.xspf in VLC 3.04
Vetinari, prduced by w_scan, Version 20170107-2 (latest Version).
The file CAN be read in, also I see the TV-Stations, but the Station
itself cannot be played within VLC.
No error message appears, neither in the program itself nor on the
console - only the arrow wanders from left to right and vice versa -
without any success or result.
Does anybody know, why this behavior appears - and - how to solve it ?
Is there a wrong or changed xspf-file-format produced by w_scan ??? Or
has anything changed within VLC ?
Hope anyone of this loist can help to get me out of here ? This is my
only one TV I have :-(
Thanks in advance
bye Hans
