Many thanks for the replies. My reasoning behind having a HDD is purely one
of space vs cost. I have a sizeable media collection that would require
several SSDs and thus increase my overall cost, whereas a 2TB HDD is £50.00.
So, it's good to know Xubuntu and SSDs play nice together. And I shall not
worry about UEFI.
