[xubuntu-users] Ubuntu 18.04 - connection to TV by HDMI cable

It sounds like Xubuntu might be treating your monitor as a second display.
In the whisker menu type Display.

The Display app should show you your laptop display and the external
monitor. If you want the monitor to display what is on the laptop display
click the mirror displays option.

I use 2 monitors at home and it's nice being able to stretch across 2
screens. (one for browsing, one for editing graphics or coding).
