I can understand that, but don't worry too much about it. People will
not (should not) be mad if you've missed some context, but will just
point you to it.

I'd rather point users to <https://answers.launchpad.net/bzr> because:
* there's some tracking of questions that have or have not been
satisfactorily answered yet, whereas they can easily get lost on the
list
* they don't have to subscribe to a mailing list when they just want
to ask one question
* they may get a faq suggestion
* we avoid various spam issues around mail from new people (like
moderation delays)
* if their question is in fact a bug, that can be directly drawn out
... or the main list, or irc are of course also fine
There are some drawbacks:
* it emphasizes a web interface, which is not what everyone prefers
* you do need to have or create a Launchpad account
* possibly not as many people monitor and answer the questions (please do)
