As reported here http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=314475 Evince opens
multiple windows when opening a document while another Evince window is open.

This is because the DBUS IPC mechanism for Breezy's Evince package is broken. 
The problem is caused by the fact that evince's 'make dist' is distributing
stale copies of ev-applicaiton-service.h.  The recommended solution from
upstream is to erase this file before building.

I did an apt-get source/dpkg-buildpackage of evince following this suggestion
(ie: rm shell/ev-application-service.h) and the resulting version does not
exibit this problem.

It does however exibit startup-notification problems (ie: you get a startup
notification entry in the tasklist that doesn't go away when the window opens).
