Summary: evolution randomly crashes
Product: Ubuntu
Version: unspecified
Platform: powerpc
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: evolution
AssignedTo: seb128 at ubuntu.com
ReportedBy: callipeo at libero.it
QAContact: desktop-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com
Evolution crashes in an unpredictable way on an updated breezy system. This is
what I got on the terminal:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
france at localhost:~$ evolution --sync
adding hook target 'source'
(evolution:6542): camel-WARNING **: camel_exception_get_id called with NULL
parameter.
(evolution:6542): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_gc_set_foreground: assertion `GDK_IS_GC
(gc)' failed
(evolution:6542): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_file_system_path_is_local: assertion
`path != NULL' failed
(evolution:6542): GnomeCanvas-CRITICAL **: gnome_canvas_request_redraw:
assertion `GNOME_IS_CANVAS (canvas)' failed
The program 'evolution' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.
(Details: serial 358758 error_code 11 request_code 53 minor_code 0)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I did not succeed in getting a backtrace because I do not know how to use gdb.
Please let me know if I can help further.
