Daniel, I am running dapper,evo 2.8.1 and eds 1.8.1. Will have a look at
the DebuggingProgramCrash page and see what I can do. It is definitely
an ldap problem, I have simply disabled autocompletion from ldap servers
in evo's preferences to make evo usable again.

Jan, I had a look at the upstream bug report, yes looks v similar, in particular the person who added comment #16 seems to be triggering the bug the same way as me [without moving messages between folders].
