[Bug 48748] The applications menu has gone

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: alacarte

Just unselected some applications with alacarte and when I closed it I
tried to see the menu and I only can access the "Places" and "System"
menus, but not the "Applications" menu.

I tried to see if there's a configuration file for that but had no luck.

In addition I can't access to the items in the edit menu in alacarte.
