Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gthumb
When a movie (*.avi or else) is in the selected folder, nothing is
shown. For the user, it looks like it's not there. Opening the same
folder with Nautilus, (off course) shows the movie file.
I understand that avi-files are not handled with gThumb, probably
because it's not on the white list of supported image types. I can live
with that.
But it's *very* inconvenient if you have to open Nautilus to view the
movie, provided you *know* that the file resides there...
My proposal: show the file, maybe with a thumbnail (but this is not
necessary). Doubli click on the item opens the connected application
(Totem for example).
As a step further: why is it not possible to add comments to a
unsupported file? When that *can* be done, I can even find my movies
back with the search function within gThumb, that will be great!
