Title:
manpages of character sets are broken

Status in “manpages” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released
Status in “manpages” package in Debian:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: manpages

Type "man iso-8859-7". You are supposed to get a table showing the
actual Greek letters next to their textual descriptions. But instead
you just get the latin-1 characters of the corresponding codepoints.
  Example line:

353 235 EB ë GREEK SMALL LETTER LAMDA

which is clearly wrong, it's an e with diaeresis, not a lamda.

Similar happens to all the other iso-8859-* manpages. In their
current state they are pretty pointless.

"man koi8-r" is actually even worse, rendering the manpage stops at
the first char that it wants to display. Using "less" as the pager I
  get this:

         Oct Dec Hex Char Description
         -----------------------------------------------------------------------
                                    FORMS LIGHT HORIZONTAL
         200 128 .nr03bot 0>?40
Manual page koi8-r(7) line 1/30 (END)

All these manpages should properly show the characters they are
talking about, no matter whether they are Greek or Russian or any
other symbols. (I'd like to use these manpages as sources of copy-
  pasting letters, for example.)

Of course I'm using UTF-8 everywhere. I have Hardy 8.04.1.
