Given the scope of the new code will only affect Edubuntu, and both
product managers for Edubuntu are ok with it,  it should be ok.   One
request that if it isn't solid enough by beta freeze (8/25 2100 UTC), we
hold off on it until after beta 1 freeze is over.

Bug description:
  The new Network Manager seems to detect manual changes to network
  cards and reset them (at least in alpha-1).

  This is breaking LTSP live.
