Could you also state if this was a clean install from a live CD/USB
stick or an upgrade from within Ubuntu? If this was an upgrade
installation please disregard my previous comment and instead attach the
files in: /var/log/dist-upgrade/

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
When installing Ocelot on a Eeepc 1005HA, install always crashes on
"Setting up keyboard-configuration". This will cause the Eeepc to
either hang or reboot.
Issue occurs on both regular and alternative desktop installations and
when executing 'dpkg --configure -a' during a rescue boot.
