I am unable to reproduce this.  Could you be a little more specific?  Do
you mean that you chose the rescue option from the grub menu, then got
to the menu that gives the choice of booting normally, doing a fsck, or
dropping to a root shell, and the keyboard does not respond?

Also it looks like you are running kernel 3.2.11 on Ubuntu 11.10, which
uses kernel 3.0.  Does this happen with the supported kernel?
