Your terminal log shows that you have removed the grub2 package (grub-
pc) in favor of grub1 without configuring grub1 for use as a bootloader.
This is a local configuration error, not a bug in Ubuntu.

It is highly recommended that you reinstall the default bootloader by
running 'sudo apt-get install grub-pc'.
