The error in the logs is:

/etc/defoma/hints/ttf-mscorefonts-installer.hints: Unable to open, or empty.
dpkg: error processing ttf-mscorefonts-installer (--configure):

This file is part of the ttf-mscorefonts-installer package, so if it's
missing, this appears to be a local configuration error, not a bug in
the package.  Since this is a conffile, the file will not be restored on
package upgrade; instead you need to run dpkg --force-confmiss for the
package.
