Same problem here. I'm using a 64-bit AMD system (been dual-booting
Windows 7 and Xubuntu for over a year) and I wanted to try Kubuntu. I
have 2 empty spaces available between 2 HDDs and I planned to use one
for / and the other for swap. As soon as I choose the areas I want to
used for both, the dialogue box disappears and I find myself back at the
Live CD desktop.

Title:
  Kubuntu 11.10 keeps crashing

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:

Nothing much to add, excpet for the files I suppose the ubuntu-bug ubiquity command has sent. The installer seems to crash during the system installation (I mean, after partitioning and copying files). I did everything by the book, first time I got any problems installing a kubuntu distribution.
Actually I succeded when I first tried this installation, today, but kubuntu didn't seem to be able to load kde. I tried installing the fglrx drivers for my ati manually, since they weren't there, but that made the situation worst. So I decided to reinstall, and then the crashes started.
I'm going to try with the dvd-installer, now.

  bye
  Giovanni
