Precise B2 still failing to install on this IBM Thinkpad, Lubuntu bug
978489, Xubuntu bug 984481, Ubuntu bug 985871 at somewhere near the same
place with some differences in the syslog.
Being rather frustrated (!) installed Linux-Mint-LXDE just EXACTLY like
I've been trying precise.
Linux-Mint-LXDE flew right through install no hitches whatever! My
hardware's running fine!
Being based on "stable" ubuntu the Linux-Mint-LXDE kernel is
3.0.0-12-generic. This thinkpad does have pae flag not needed for this
install.
Anyone have anything to try for Lubuntu precise B2? I don't know
python.
Jerry

Title:
12.04 20120410 daily build lubuntu ubiquity crash
Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Could be duplicate of bug #97756. Well into install, after all
questions answered, about 1/3 of the way "copying files" the ubiquity
window disappears. The whirly is still running so I think copying
does proceed to the end of copying but a lot of the install never gets
completed. Do note the hardware, Thinkpad R31, can spend a very long
time on a upgrade from 12.04 Alpha (installed just fine) to Beta 2
without any problem copying.
