[Bug 987761] [NEW] precise-server-i386 installation hangs upon retrying the auto network configuration

Public bug reported:

The following is the step to reproduce,
1. Make sure the ethternet cable is unplugged
2. Start the installation
3. Follow the onscreen instructions untill the 'Network autoconfiguration failed' message appears
4. At this point insert the ethernet cable and select 'Retry network autoconfiguration' (the autoconfiguration this time should succeed)
5. Enter the host name and press enter
6. At this point there will be a blank screen and the installation hangs

http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-server/daily/20120423/precise-server-i386.iso

Recovery: 
Restart the installation after inserting the ethernet cable
