Title:
Software Sources in Ubuntu 12.10 are slow to start

Status in “software-properties” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Steps to reproduce:
  1, Open System Settings
  2, Click on Software sources
3, wait quite long time (aprox. 10-15s) to pop up the window of Software sources

When you compare that with other configuration settings, it is
painfully slow to start. Once I clicked on the icon multiple times
because of no visual feedback and then got many windows at once... :/

This issue started since Quantal (Ubuntu 12.10)

This is similar to bug 1073728 but from a different starting point.
Fixing bug 780776 would be one way of fixing this bug.
