Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. Could you try removing the words 'quiet' and 'splash' from the
top most entry in the grub menu, and try booting again?  Or if you have
access to the Live CD, try booting with it? Once you have booted your
computer, could you please add the log files from '/var/log/dist-
upgrade/' to this bug report as separate attachments, NOT pasted into
the comments NOR attached as gzip or tar files? Thanks in advance.

  upon upgrading ubuntu 12.04 to 12.10 not able to login

Status in “ubuntu-release-upgrader” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  I just upgrade from 12.04 to 12.10. I downloaded the beta 2 version of
  Ubuntu 12.10 few hours ago.

  with my username i cannot login.

  through remote i can go into system, but all my documents are gone.
  Meaning i cannot reach.

  Pls let me know what to do.
