newer kernels can build with the updated binutils. closing the issue

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: binutils

  On my Maverick system, I have found that attempting to build the Linux
  2.6.36 kernel with gcc-4.4 or gcc-4.5 and any version of binutils
  later than (but not including) 2.20.51.20100710-1ubuntu2.  Kernels
  linked with later versions give a KP stating that "IO-APIC + Timer
  doesn't work".  I erroneously filed a bug in the Linux kernel, but
  some of the data I gave there may be useful.  Here is the link:
