I believe that this is because os-prober is returning "Ubuntu 13.04" and
not identifying the installed system as Ubuntu-GNOME.

Title:
Installation type Shows Ubuntu instead of UbuntuGNOME

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
When installing UbuntuGNOME 13.04 on a disk that already has that
image installed. The 'Installation Type' Screen shows

  'Reinstall Ubuntu 13.04'
  'Install Ubuntu-GNOME 13.04 alongside Ubuntu 13.04'
  'Erase Ubuntu 13.04 and reinstall'
  ...

The disk contains an image of Ubuntu-GNOME already, not standard
Ubuntu flavour. Descriptions are misleading as to what is being
installed, or what installation media is being used.
