All ubuntu-flavours install as "ubuntu", there is no way to detect if
unity,gnome-shell,kde are installed uniquiely or if multiple sessions
are available. Thus all official flavours, once installed report that
they are "Ubuntu". I'm not sure if we have master bug for this or not,
similarly grub will say that you are booting "Ubuntu" and etc. similar
things like uname -a.

Title:
Installation type Shows Ubuntu instead of UbuntuGNOME

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
When installing UbuntuGNOME 13.04 on a disk that already has that
image installed. The 'Installation Type' Screen shows

  'Reinstall Ubuntu 13.04'
  'Install Ubuntu-GNOME 13.04 alongside Ubuntu 13.04'
  'Erase Ubuntu 13.04 and reinstall'
  ...

The disk contains an image of Ubuntu-GNOME already, not standard
Ubuntu flavour. Descriptions are misleading as to what is being
installed, or what installation media is being used.
