Your conclusion is fair enough, and I approve of it. However, for the
sake of merely noting it, my mapping of the XF86MonBrightnessDown key is
the one intended by the OEM, and should by no means interact with the
wireless system.

I sense there is a deeper phenomenon causing this reported behaviour,
but I will not look into it until it becomes a problem for me again.

Thank you for your time!

Title:
screenblank.sh script shuts down disrupts wireless connection

Status in “acpi-support” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
I have noticed that running the screenblank.sh script (at
/etc/acpi/screenblank.sh) disrupts the wireless connection. The
connection is cut off and the wireless device can no longer
successfully scan for wireless connections until after its switched
  off and on again.

Please tell me how I can help solving this problem.
