[Bug 179907] Re: Ubuntu should not always show NTFS system and hidden files and directories

Unix knows nothing about these windows filesystem specific flags.
Artificially adding a dot to the name will have unintended consequences,
such as breaking scripts or causing the name to *really* have a dot
prefix if you copy the file.

Title:
Ubuntu should not always show NTFS system and hidden files and
  directories

Status in “ntfs-3g” package in Ubuntu:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: ntfs-3g

Ubuntu should hide NTFS system files by default, and allow to
configure it to show them. The same for hidden files. It should
consider not only ".file" to hide or show, but also the flag of hidden
  files on a NTFS partition.
