If you are still able to reproduce this please try to hit ctrl-alt-f1 to
see if you can still get to a tty.

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Installation of Ubuntu 10.04 beta1 desktop i386  from CD-ROM on MSI K8MM3-V, Athlon 64, 1GB RAM, 75GB HD crashes on step 4 of 7 (cursor freezes - hard reboot necessary). Hard drive has somewhat unusual partitions: Windows XP and leftovers from Ubuntu and openSUSE installations (there are 2 unallocated areas around sda5):
