Found on dconf-editor under desktop.ibus.general the key engines-order, and despite not having english as one of my input methods, the first value on this key was 'xkb:en::us'. Removed that and the problem was resolved.
Don't know if that's the real cause nor why english was first if it wasn't even supposed to be there.
